Why This so-called “economic blackout” is DUMB - 6 Reasons
This so-called “economic blackout” is completely pointless for several reasons:
1️⃣ People Will Just Spend on Thursday or Saturday – A one-day boycott doesn’t actually hurt businesses in the long run. If someone needs gas, food, or groceries, they’ll just buy it the day before or after. This means total revenue for the week won’t change much, if at all.
2️⃣ Conservatives Will Overspend to Counter It – The majority of Americans lean conservative, and they oppose these leftist protest stunts. Instead of hurting big businesses, this boycott will likely backfire, as conservatives will deliberately spend MORE to neutralize the impact.
3️⃣ Big Businesses Won’t Care – Large corporations operate on long-term revenue trends, not single-day sales. A minor dip in transactions over 24 hours means nothing compared to quarterly profits. They’ll recoup any losses within days.
4️⃣ It Won’t "Shake Things Up" – The idea that this will somehow force corporations to change their behavior is laughable. If activists really wanted to make a dent, they’d have to boycott for months, not a single day. But that would require actual sacrifice, which these movements never have the discipline for.
5️⃣ Using Cash Instead of Cards Makes No Difference – This doesn’t “stick it to the system” at all. The store still gets your money, and unless you’re withdrawing thousands at once, the banks won’t feel a thing.
6️⃣ “Corporate Greed” is Just the Free Market at Work – Profitable businesses succeed because people voluntarily buy from them. If you don’t like a company, don’t shop there—permanently. But demanding “real change” while still relying on the same companies is just hypocrisy.
7️⃣ BONUS: Some Are Saying to "Buy Black Only" If You Must Spend – So, let’s get this straight: The solution to “corporate greed” is... racially segregating commerce? That’s not fighting injustice—that’s just blatant racism wrapped in activism. Imagine if someone said, “Buy White Only.” The outrage would be instant. But when it’s reversed, it’s suddenly “empowering”? Nonsense.
This is just another performative leftist protest that will accomplish nothing—except maybe give people an excuse to pat themselves on the back for “fighting capitalism” while still using their iPhones and drinking Starbucks. 🤡
