The Truth About Medicaid and the Big Beautiful Bill: Facts vs Fear
When you actually read the Big Beautiful Bill and its so-called “Medicaid cuts,” you’ll quickly realize the Democrats and mainstream media are completely misleading the public.
No reasonable American would oppose what’s actually in the bill. Let’s walk through the facts...this is just the first page of the proposed savings:
Cut #1:
💰 Saves $35 billion over 10 years
Limits federal health program eligibility based on citizenship.
This simply means that people in the country illegally won’t receive Medicaid...something many claim isn’t happening anyway. If you believe that, then you should support this.
Cut #2:
💰 Saves $42 billion over 10 years
Ends taxpayer coverage of “bad debt” for Medicare.
What is bad debt? It’s the portion of hospital bills that go unpaid after private insurance pays their share. Typically, private insurance doesn’t cover this...but Medicaid does, with taxpayers footing up to 65% of the leftover cost.
Hospitals have exploited this by inflating costs for Medicaid patients to increase this debt...then billing taxpayers. This reform simply puts an end to that practice.
Cut #3:
💰 Saves $148 billion over 10 years
Enforces Medicare “site neutrality.”
Hospitals currently charge Medicare/Medicaid patients more than those paying with private insurance or cash for the same procedures. This provision stops that. It demands fair pricing across the board. Who could reasonably oppose that?
Just from these three items alone, we’re looking at over $200 billion in savings...without hurting law-abiding citizens or cutting care for those who qualify.
Yet if you only heard “$200 billion in Medicaid cuts,” you might panic...without ever understanding what’s actually being reformed. When you take a moment to look at the facts instead of following talking points or viral outrage, you’ll see these are smart, responsible reforms that benefit everyone, especially the taxpayer.
These are common-sense changes.
