Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson Rebuilding Campaign, Vows to Go After CNN "Full Throttle"
In a recent interview with CNN, Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson (R-NC) addressed the allegations against him, which he firmly denies. Despite the departure of key campaign staff, Robinson remains confident in his ability to win. According to On Point Politics—one of the most accurate aggregate modelers of 2020—Robinson holds a 0.6% lead in the race, reinforcing his chances of success.

Robinson emphasized the overwhelming support his campaign has received, with numerous resumés and offers coming in as he builds a new team. He also expressed frustration with CNN’s focus on the allegations instead of pressing issues like the opioid and fentanyl crises, border security, and the economy, asserting that he remains committed to the concerns of North Carolinians.
In the interview, Robinson made his stance clear:
- "We have full confidence in our ability to keep going. We're getting resumés from all over... forming a team that we know can still lead us to victory."
- Regarding the timing of his staff leaving, he said, "The timing doesn’t matter... It’s not the timing, it’s how you react, and we are ready to react."
- On the allegations, Robinson stated, "We are in talks... everything up to legal counsel to take CNN to task for what they have done to us. We are going after them."
- Addressing the focus of the media, he said, "Think about how many people are hooked on fentanyl... and how many will die tonight because of it. Think about what's going on at our border... and on the world stage, and this is what you choose to focus on?"
- Finally, Robinson vowed to hold CNN accountable: "I am coming after CNN full throttle."
With five weeks left in the race, Robinson’s focus remains on winning and addressing the critical issues affecting North Carolina.
